Elizabeth Minnich, PhD, is senior scholar for the American Association of Colleges and Universities Office of Diversity, Equity and Global Initiatives. A second edition of her award-winning book Transforming Knowledge was published in 2005, and her consulting work has taken her to more than 100 colleges, universities and independent schools and numerous foundations. Dr. Minnich earned her masters and doctoral degrees in philosophy from the Graduate Faculty for Political and Social Science of the New School University in New York, where she was teaching assistant for Hannah Arendt. Sharon Benjamin, PhD, is principal of Alchemy, a Washington DC based management consulting practice. She is a seasoned organizational executive who has served as a CEO and directed institutional development and finance. Her positions have included Vice President for Marketing for the Rails to-Trails Conservancy in DC and Director for Major Gifts for the Union of Concerned Scientists in Cambridge MA. She earned her doctorate in organizational behavior from the Union Institute and University in Cincinnati OH, where she has co-taught three leadership seminars. She has been active in the non-profit community, serving as Treasurer of the Board Earthworks, chair of the Board of Directors of Bluevoice.org, and a member of Oceana’s Board of Governors. Dr. Alan Barstow, is director of Academics and Collaboration and faculty member of the Organizational Dynamics Program at the University of Pennsylvania. He specializes in organizational design, sustainable development and the process of change. His consulting activities focus on involving key stakeholders in organizational redesign processes and applying systems thinking and complexity theory to organizational behavior.
