Description:

Innovation and Complexity Science Workshop
Presented by Ernst & Young in cooperation with Plexus Institute
September 27-28, 2010
Stuttgart, Germany

What does complexity science tell us about the way change and innovation happen? How will you and your organization be better off if you know? Complexity science is changing the way we understand biological and social life—its structures and functions and its care and well-being. Some of the world’s leading scholars and theoreticians in the social and physical sciences are making discoveries that shed new light on how economies and organizations evolve and operate, and how innovations are generated. Leaders who have a fuller and more nuanced understanding of the dynamics of management, change, and novelty will be better equipped to solve problems and seize opportunities in turbulent times.

A faculty of outstanding complexity scholars and practitioners and European business leaders will lead sessions and share insights on complexity and management, emerging issues, lessons from human physiology, and liberating structures, the processes that spark collaboration and innovation. Faculty will include:

Henri Lipmanowicz, Chair, Plexus Institute Board of Trustees

Grey Warner, Senior Vice President, Global Human Health (retired), Merck & Co.

Nancy Iversen, Director of Patient Safety and Infection Control, Billings Clinic, Billings, Montana

Curt Lindberg, DMan, Chief Learning and Science Officer, Plexus Institute

Ary Goldberger, MD, Cardiologist and Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School

Lars Weigl, Partner, Global Peformance Improvement Leader, Ernst & Young

Gunjan Bhardwaj, Manager, Global Business Performance Thinktank Leader, Ernst & Young

Patrick Flochel, Partner, EMEIA Life Sciences Leader, Ernst & Young; Pharma 3.0

Meike Tilebein, Professor for Diversity Studies in Engineering, University of Stuttgart

Florian Taube, Assistant Professor for Growth Management, European Business School

Michael Eisenbeis, Director, European Operations and Corporate Strategy, The Scuderi Group
