A Culture of Conversation in the Heart of Nursing
Guests: Christina Baldwin and Margaret Hourigan

MP3 File

In a turbulent era of relentless change and stress in healthcare, nurses need ways to sustain environments of best practice and radical self-care. Christina Baldwin is a writer and seminar presenter who has devoted years of study to personal growth and group dynamics. Her most recent book, The Circle Way, A Leader in Every Chair, coauthored with Ann Linnea, offers a guide to the heart of hosting conversations that make a difference. Ms. Baldwin and Ms. Linnea are cofounders ofPeerSpirit, Inc., an educational company that teachers circle practice. Margaret Hourigan, RN, EdD, CNAA, BC, is chair of the Department of Nursing at St. Joseph's College of Maine. Margaret Hourigan introduced complexity science intothe nursing curricula at St. Joseph's. She was named the 2009 Maine Nursing Leader by the Organization for Maine Nurse Executives (OMNE) for outstanding achievement in nursing leadership, communication and commitment to patient care.
